I hate to do a direct ping and bother him, but I think this one warrants one for @ljdawson@lemmy.world
Everything as written in your title at least sounds like it should have transferred imo
Oh dear lord, I don't think it warrants a ping for him. I am perfectly willing to just buy it again, but it's a bit of a curiousity as to why I can't sync it. I'm a software developer, and given all that I know, just transferring my creds over to a new phone shouldn't break any links. The exact same credentials on different hardware shouldn't matter.
I have multiple accounts on varying services, so it's possible I'm missing something amongst the chaos.
For android specifically it depends on the developers implementation of the specific in app purchase. Some are "consumable" (one time use) and some are permanent (buy once, keep forever. Also should get restored automatically)

That's very kind of you, but other people who have the same problem also shouldn't have to buy a new lifetime license. I remember him saying it was through your google account and Google play, so from what I understand it should be working
