I have no idea if this person is rightfully or wrongfully being pejoratively called performative, but there are people who say good things publicly (while being a net liberal or doing zero praxis IRL) and there are people (usually reactionaries) who notice any form of saying good things publicly and make bad faith accusations them of being the former (pejoratively performative).
