My favorite example of how to lie with statistics:
"Of the 117 billion people who have ever lived, 8 billion of them are still alive. Therefore, the chance of dying is not 100% but rather only 93%."
"The place most people die is in their bed. Beds are thus the most dangerous place in the world"
I have never died, therefore all previous data points show I can't die. Good science!
That is actually precisely what the "paradox of the cock" is saying.
A rooster crows every morning. They observe this and conclude that statistically, they can't die. Which is bullshit, ofc.
