My first paycheck was for $9/hr, i made $36 that week

for reference a police officer where i live starts on $36 an hour (which is equivalent to the level 3 pay in other govt departments)

the police are 80% " unionised "

also gonna guess it doesn't require a college degree to become a pig either since that's the norm for most places

Yeah absolutely, the first time i had a proper salary that matched a cops pay i was 40k in debt to a university, and it wasnt secure employment
