This has never happened to me because my opinions are 100% conventional.

On Anime
While Anime is a beloved animation style with a rich history and extensive following, our focus here leans towards other forms of animation. This is due to the immense popularity of Anime in online spaces, which is amply covered by other dedicated communities.
This doesn't mean that Anime related conversation is not allowed here, only that it's not our focus. For a dedicated Anime instance, check out ani.social.
On Technical Discussion
While our primary goal is to discuss animated media, conversations about animation techniques and the process of creating animation are also welcome. Whether you're a budding animator seeking to understand more about the industry, or a seasoned professional sharing your experiences, you're welcome here.

Bunraku. Fun and stylistic, albeit a little cheesy. 18% tomatometer and 49% audience score. I was devastated ๐
I liked the new Ghostbusters film, because it leans heavily on lore. I think it got review bombed for being woke
How in the fuck was THAT "woke"?! Are we talking about Afterlife or the Frozen thing?
Frozen Empire
I haven't seen that yet, I was thinking the all-girls one.(Girlsbusters?)
I had two co-workers who spend most of the day talking about trans people and woke this and that argue about a movie being woke or not for like an hour.
If they bring it up constantly, aren't they also woke by definition?
I can't get them to define it so maybe I guess.
I like spy/intrigue movies.
Two recent ones that died at the box office were Mile 22 and The Rhythm Section.
Both are worth a look imho.
The live-action "adaptation" of Death Note wasn't terrible. Calling it an adaptation is a bit generous (more like a separate story in a similar universe) and it nowhere near lives up the source material. But it was alright - seems mostly just hated because of people's expectations of what it claimed to be an adaptation. In general, media that differs significantly from the source material (even if the source material didn't exist at the time, like with Fullmetal Alchemist) gets more hate than it deserves.
Black Bullet seems to have some really negative opinions, but I'm a fan of that genre of shows like Tokyo Ghoul where main characters are some sort of social pariah because of non-human features (guess I find them relatable).
Non-animated, but "In Time" 2011 was a movie I enjoyed quite a bit, but found out later that people generally have a slightly negative view of it I think.
