By popular demand, for this special Thursday edition of Anime Night, we’re watching Fantasia (1940), Disney’s legendary musical anthology, effectively a series of animated music videos set to classical pieces. But wait! There’s more. We’re also watching the well-regarded Italian parody of Fantasia, Allegro Von Troppo (1976), which does much the same thing, but with many sly lampoons of its predecessor., as well live-action comedic interludes. And you know what, fuck it, we’ll watch Fanttasia 2000 (1999) tonight too. It is the shorter sequel to Fantasia that animates a slew of new pieces, but reuses the Sorcerer’s Apprentice sequence, because everyone likes that one. Holy shit, this is gonna be a lot of Fantasia.
