The wording is a bit open to ambiguity

Perfect rock is for the wife, she'll put it to good use. Stick is good to walk home with.
With a strap? I'm taking the rock, but if it's CQC? Sharpened stick every time. Spear > staff > sword, etc.
For my quest? Hmm. Sticks are pretty useful. However In fantasy quests rocks are often runes that can hold powerful spells.
