I've think it says "We're Felons"

Did you see what he’s painting? The shirts kinda tame by comparison.

[–] zaph@sh.itjust.works 10 points 5 months ago (1 children)

I'm pretty sure it says "we're felons" for wells fargo

What's the original name for Crooks?

I live on the other side of the pond.

Found the shirt!

Edit: Ah these are just American banks. Would be nice to slap a big ol' Deutsche Bank on here too in the largest possible font.

Douche bank

[–] yokonzo@lemmy.world 5 points 5 months ago

Getting a custom printed T isn't that difficult tbh, you can open your fav image editing software, slap down the text tool, export to .PNG and you got yourself a usable file to send to a company that does screenprints

If Well's Fargo needs horses to pull their tank, I don't think you need to worry too much about the tank.

[–] uis@lemm.ee 2 points 5 months ago

And slap Spermbank as reference to Sberbank

[–] 50MYT@aussie.zone 41 points 5 months ago (1 children)

This guy is awesome.

He does it to all the chase banks.

[–] shplane@lemmy.world 28 points 5 months ago (1 children)

I hope this guy has a solid alibi if that bank ever goes up in flames one day

life, uh.. finds a way

[–] thefrankring@lemmy.world 12 points 5 months ago (1 children)

I wonder what was in the artist's mind.

[–] Hugh_Jeggs@lemm.ee 15 points 5 months ago (2 children)

The most American thing about his pic is that he's scared to actually write "Bank of America" in case he gets sued

[–] thefrankring@lemmy.world 6 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Understandable. He could draw a few flames to hide it instead.

[–] Hugh_Jeggs@lemm.ee 0 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Or he could actually stop being a pussy, actually write it, get sued and draw attention to the problem?

[–] thefrankring@lemmy.world 5 points 5 months ago (1 children)

True, but it takes big balls. By doing so, you're provoking a big corporation that has all the resources to destroy your life.

[–] Hugh_Jeggs@lemm.ee 5 points 5 months ago (2 children)

Actually draws back to a reply I got earlier.

In other countries, the corporations wouldn't be able to do this because the people would be behind the artist

It seems the US is just horribly selfish that way :(

'Cayse everybody's so scared
We don't wanna go there
We don't wanna make a move
We got our lives to lose
Screaming in the dark while
We just play our parts out
And I play along
Like I don't know what's going on

Icon For Hire - Make A Move

[–] thefrankring@lemmy.world 1 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Yeah, the first one to stand up has to be the most courageous. He becomes the leader and example. Others might decide to follow (or not).

In many capitalist/right-wing countries like the US, more often than not, money is king.

[–] Hugh_Jeggs@lemm.ee 1 points 5 months ago

In many

There's just two mate, that's far from normal

[–] kerrigan778@lemmy.world 3 points 5 months ago

Alex Schaefer does write the actual names of the bank in the art, which is fair artistic use and as far as I know he's never been sued for it. Obviously you can't just put the banks names and logos on the back of a shirt and sell it but also, that would be counter to the point of the shirt which is to obviously satirize the names.

[–] MajorHavoc@programming.dev 8 points 5 months ago (1 children)

The accuracy of that painting could be improved...

Depict they have closed the doors for lunch, at 11:23a. Customers forced to use the ATMs outside. And, oh, the agony - as it unnecessarily captures their ATM cards. And turn away in a walk-of-shame.
