I hate sandwiches at New York delis, too much fucking meat on the sandwich, it's like a cow with crackers on either side. "Hey sir what would you like?" "A pastrami sandwich." "Anything else?" "Yeah a loaf of bread and some other people.

I used to like pastrami sandwiches. I still do, but I used to, too.
for real though i don't understand people who like just chomping into huge slabs of meat like this. the bread and the other fillings are part of the sandwich experience! if you want a huge hunk of shit go eat a steak or something, jesus
Typical price for something like this around me is almost 20 bucks on grub hub or door dash. If it was one of those Katz deli types that is basically 4x the meat of a regular sandwich and needs to be served open faced since it isn't even really a sandwich at that point, it would make a little sense.
I did eat the poor mans version of this. Which is basically just a slab of spam between two buns with some mustard.
Pastrami is tasty, but that's overkill.
How do you even fit your mouth around that?
Heh
Everytime I've been to a deli I ask for extra bread and make a second sandwich for whoever I'm with. Saves like $20.
Disgusting and I eat meat. A good sandwich is about balancing the ingredients so you can taste everything together. Something like this is just pure lizard-brain appeal nonsense. Same thing with a good cookie or cake. You can't just load it up with a shit ton of icing. You have the let the taste of the cake shine through as well.
$31 for a sandwich???
I don’t appreciate a whole lb of meat on my sandwiches, but I do love a good pastrami and Swiss on rye.
