Combined with an insurrection-approving spouse it’s beyond shocking that a Supreme Court Justice wouldn’t resign in shame let alone that there’s a public allowing it.

And of course, an orbit of politicians who are so deep in money themselves that they dare not do their job to save America.

🤣🤣 "shame" 😂😂

That's a good one!

Awfully cheap for an entire branch of government supposedly insulated from politics.

And who's going to do anything about it?

[–] GladiusB@lemmy.world 3 points 5 months ago

Exactly what he said when he did it

Either way the amounts are a total steal for the value they get. Seriously feel like maybe we should just give in and make a Kickstarter platform for bribing politicians ourselves. At least make the billionaires have to outbid us.

unfortunately, we already collaborate to pay them. It's called Taxes and a Salary. How much have we already paid thomas? 33 years in the role, around $250k/year avg, we've collectively paid him 8.25 million already to NOT be a corrupt piece of shit. Giving him more isn't the answer.

I think there are quite a few crowdfunded lobby groups already, but I don't vouch for any in particular.

Seriously Clarence Thomas needs to be removed and replaced, compromised individual in such a position of power is a national security threat.

Must have been getting jealous of all the millionaires in Congress insider trading, taking PAC money, etc

[–] CuttingBoard@sopuli.xyz 3 points 5 months ago

That's assuming he doesn't do that too.

[–] enbyecho@lemmy.world 4 points 5 months ago

Boy, he really sold himself short. Shoulda gone big... maybe $2.4 BILLION.

[–] Snoopey@lemmy.world 3 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Just start a gofundme to bribe him the other way, not really that much money.

Nah just crowd fund a hitman.
