Mildly Interesting

This is for strictly mildly interesting material. If it's too interesting, it doesn't belong. If it's not interesting, it doesn't belong.

This is obviously an objective criteria, so the mods are always right. Or maybe mildly right? Ahh.. what do we know?

Just post some stuff and don't spam.

This tree face was on the other side of the yard.

We just lost two trees in the backyard because of a huge storm, so this feels like a good way to let our trees in the front yard know we still care.

Well that’s fucking horrifying.

I feel it's high time trees get to let us know how they feel.

If trees could scream, would we be so cavalier about cutting them down? We might, if they screamed all the time, for no good reason.

Do you ever worry about them getting angry and starting a revolt?

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 4 points 3 months ago

By worry, do you mean hope?

These things crack me up

This is funny and horrifying at the same time :D

That is what we were going for!

I wanted to buy these and use them as Halloween decorations. I have glow in the dark paint. So, I planning to enhance them some.

Ok this is straight up only scary now. I like the idea tho!

I have tried multiple brands of glow-in-the-dark paint for Halloween things and I have always been disappointed, so if you know a brand that works, please tell me about it. Because everything I've used does not glow as much as, say, a glow-in-the-dark shirt.

What I bought was something basic from Amazon. My trick was using a dedicated UV flashlight strategically placed. It wasn't an amazing effect, but it worked.

FolkArt glow in the dark Acrylic paint, 8 oz, Neutral 8 Fl Oz

The UV flashlight is a great idea! Thanks for the link!

I got these for my dad as a kid and later he cut the trees down. Always felt partially responsible.

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 7 points 3 months ago

Did he laugh maniacally as he did it?

Careful, you may have just started an Entmoot

[–] Danquebec@sh.itjust.works 4 points 3 months ago

I started seeing them in my neighborhood. What's going on?

Why put up a Green Man face when instead you can add this unsettling collage.
