Yea, I too would hide myself from my friends if I ever did something as embarrassing as this

[-] RyanGosling@hexbear.net 23 points 3 days ago

but remain discreet for fear of losing face with their friends and former

Not gonna lie I’d be embarrassed too if I made a big deal of condemning my family and home then moving to AnKKKlo Island and hating it

It's like the ultimate humiliation. You betray your country and culture to go simp the wasps, and then find out their society is falling apart.

The financial situation is so bad in the UK that some of these folks can sell their Hong Kong property and have enough to buy a home for themselves and a rental property in the UK.

Brexiter's gonna have Asian landlords and are not going to be happy about it.

Shouldn't have left the civilized world for a collapsing shithole

Remain discreet? Nope. You take that L.

You've made your bed, now lay in it. You've earned a decade of humiliation. May as well also tattoo "I fucked up" on your forehead in both Cantonese and Mandarin.

In spite of all the challenges, 99 per cent of those interviewed in the survey said that they did not plan to return to Hong Kong.

If this was true, there would be no need to write this article. Even the very next sentence of the article questions if the survey responses are true

I think you underestimate how lazy the average journalist is, most articles don’t need to be written.

Rules:

-- PLEASE KEEP POST TITLES INFORMATIVE --

-- Overly editorialized titles, particularly if they link to opinion pieces, may get your post removed. --

-- All posts must include a link to their source. Screenshots are fine IF you include the link in the post body. --

-- If you are citing a twitter post as news please include not just the twitter.com in your links but also nitter.net (or another Nitter instance). There is also a Firefox extension that can redirect Twitter links to a Nitter instance: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/libredirect/ or archive them as you would any other reactionary source using e.g. https://archive.today . Twitter screenshots still need to be sourced or they will be removed --

-- Using April 1st as an excuse to post fake headlines, like the resurrection of Kissinger while he is still fortunately dead, will result in the poster being thrown in the gamer gulag and be sentenced to play and beat trashy mobile games like 'Raid: Shadow Legends' in order to be rehabilitated back into general society. --
