This wouldn’t stop my cat. It’d only slow her down.

[–] Rekorse@beehaw.org 14 points 2 months ago

Right! Mine would think it was a game to catch and eat my hands!

This wouldn’t stop my cat. It wouldn’t even slow her down.

This wouldn't stop my imaginary cat. It would speed him up.

[–] jaybone@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago

Yeah that thing would be on the floor in no time.

Need a decoy keyboard on the top deck to make the cat think they're still getting in the way

[–] Elgenzay@lemmy.ml 26 points 2 months ago

Now cats can't bother him while he looks at pictures of cats

[–] edgemaster72@lemmy.world 19 points 2 months ago

Not pictured: the cat lays down on top of the thing and starts reaching under it to bat at your hands when you try to type

I just trained her to snuggle up in my lap instead. Only took a month or so and that's what she's done for years now.

Ah, I'm sorry to have to tell you this, but you're wrong. It was her plan all along to sleep on your lap, she just tricked you into thinking "you trained her" to do so. Whenever you think you are smarter than your cat, you live in the illusion they created. They are superior beings. We are just humble servents and science experiments.

Honestly the way I look at it is more that I just had to let her know how I prefer to cuddle with her and she was cool with it. It just took a while to do that because aside from not speaking English she doesn't even really think the same way at all so.

Your cat doesn't speak english? Was she homeschooled or from overseas or something?

[–] Apytele@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 months ago

Idk but her native language appears to be temptations cat treats, no observable difference between flavors.

I need one! I have 3 kittens, they invented new keyboard shortcuts no one ever thought could be possible.

Edit: I found it. With this exact same picture. Link

50 bucks for a bent piece of acrylic? Geez

[–] LordWiggle@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

Yeah, that's why I thought. Eeeeeeerm, never mind.

[–] IzzyScissor@lemmy.world 8 points 2 months ago

Nah, the trick is to have a box lid or other cat trap next to the keyboard. It's easier to trick them to thinking they won a different game.

  1. Make a bunch of these
  2. Get the Flex Tape guy to advertise them on TV
  3. Profit

Edit: okay, I gotta be honest here. Really, I just want to see the Flex Tape guy shoot a commercial with cats. It would be funny. I stand by my advice, however.

[–] perishthethought@lemm.ee 6 points 2 months ago

Seems to be pics of his kitties with people riding them.

[–] Lennnny@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago
