Welcome to Food Crimes! This community is here to collect all and any post about cursed food and generally unusual consumables.

Right now, here’s the rules:

  1. Posts must include an image or video containing food or drink.
  2. It must be unusual or cursed in some way. a. For example, something like Doritos Milk would be unusual, but normal milk would not.
  3. No AI posts whatsoever, and any images that were altered (Ex: Photoshop, Gimp) need to be tagged.

How to tag: To tag your posts, please prepend or append the tag name inside square brackets. For example,[OC] Foo bar baz or foo bar baz [Meta] would be acceptable. Multiple tags will require separate pairs of brackets, like so: [Edited][OC] foo bar baz

Here are the current tags:

You're welcome to test that assertion at your convenience. Please do not let us know how it goes ಠ_ಠ

Peanut butter bacon cookies, bacon Blondies, maple bacon cookies... This isn't a fringe thing, lots of people add bacon to cookies it's crunchy!

You misapprehend me. Bacon in certain contexts, yes. Spam, no.

[–] VelvetStorm@lemmy.world 6 points 4 months ago (2 children)

Have you ever had spam? I feel like a lot of people who have never had it and talk shit about it, but it is so dam good.

[–] voracitude@lemmy.world 2 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Yes, I had it in a Hawaiian restaurant and was not a fan of the flavour or the texture. I'm glad you enjoy it, but I hope you'll forgive me if I decline any baked goods you proffer.

I still think it's wild they serve it in restaurants there. Imo it's not a restaurant food it's a I don't want to put effort into dinner while still having dinner taste good food.

Mac'n'cheese with a side of fried SPAM is fuckin BANGIN'.

Wanna be extra lazy, cube that shit, fry the cubes, mix into the mac, some white pepper mixed in. Put that shit in a bowl, call it a meal.

Spam and noodles has gotten me through some hard times.

Our good friends at Hormel have guidance... But basically they make it crispy like bacon first.

This is one of those things that, if I can was in another country, if someone were to describe the base ingredients (like not literally spam but "pork" or whatever), I would think, "Not for me most of the time, but sounds like a tasty thing to try once."

But Wellington uses puff pastry, not cookie dough…

And yes, of course people have already done this:

Gotta get that umami flavour!

This is almost as bad as the peanut butter cup pizza.

Which was horrible btw.

Stuff from the Vulgar Chef shouldn't count.

[–] MindTraveller@lemmy.ca 1 points 4 months ago

Is the food crime murdering a pig? I don't see how this is worse than a pie. Baked good around meat.

[–] jelloeater85@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago

Might actually be good? Sweet and savory?

Spookie reminds me of "Spuckie". (Obviously different).
