I'm having an event and wanted guests to leave a video comment or take a picture like a photo booth. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with a self hosted application I could sync up to provide an easy interface for my guests.

What kinda thing are you thinking of? An actual photobooth kinda box?

You could usr an Android tablet, install Open Camera (from F-Droid) and that has the ability to take (for example) 4 photos with a 10 sec delay... videos too...

Then use syncthing to copy those photos to something else (your phone, a NAS, etc) before it gets trashed / accidentally wiped, etc...

There’s PiBooth which is a python based Photobooth application that you can run on, among other things, a Raspberry Pi.

Hmmm seems like it doesn't do videos though. Thanks though I looked at it and it was quite cute looking.
