The DOD wants to refurbish ICBM silos that give it the ability to end civilization. But these missiles are useless as weapons, and their other main purpose—attracting an enemy’s nuclear strikes—serves no end.

Interesting. We already have a working doomsday machine (CO2 emissions) but I guess it is good to have a backup.

Shame that Russia has created an environment where something like this is necessary. Seemed like things were deescalating before they went full imperialist and killing civilians en masse to steal their land and country.

I do think we have the power to be the better man. Lead by example and don't follow. If Russia were to successfully nuke the US would you really want to retaliate? A retaliation would kill millions of innocent people.

Do you want to live in a world where Russia is nuking major world powers without repercussions? Because if there's no retaliation, they're going to nuke any country they feel like nuking.
