just remove everything after the S= in the url

More generally, remove everything after the first ? in a URL. Everything following is usually a query param, which are often used to pass tracking info to URLs without affecting the actual page pointed to by the URL.

Install the ClearURLs extension, it will do it automatically for you and for a lot more websites than just YouTube
