I thought that was Korra for a second. Lol

First thing I thought of when I saw the thumbnail.

[–] Burnedspaghetti@lemmy.world 3 points 11 months ago

Same! And because of that my brain automatically read "Tomb Raider: The Legend of Korra" I had to re-read it 3 times before I finally got it

Looks like she’s modeled a bit after Alicia Vikander, who I thought did a great job.

[–] VentraSqwal@links.dartboard.social 5 points 11 months ago (1 children)

I agree. She deserved at least one more movie imo.

The last was so over the top I loved it. Undead Mummi virus? Hell ya

[–] eve_lynn@lemmy.world 9 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Knowing Netflix it's probably cancelled already

Usually they do well with "cartoons".

Animation looks great. I’ll probably check it out.

This has like 2.5k dislikes on YT atm, why?

Maybe people still mad about the strike? Gamers upset about a strong female lead? Could be a number of things, it's the internet

Fair enough

There are multiple extensions you can get to bring it back, as the one below 😊

Wouldn't be surprised if it's the usual complaint: "too woke".

[–] nodimetotie@lemmy.world 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

I wonder what story arc they are going to follow

[–] mctoasterson@reddthat.com 4 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Based on the style, bow and climbing pick emphasis, and secondary characters in the photo, it's probably a verbatim port of the Tomb Raider (2013) story.

[–] nodimetotie@lemmy.world 1 points 11 months ago

Good observation about the photo! I also noticed it but did not immediately relate to anything.

[–] Ganbat@lemmyonline.com 1 points 11 months ago

Huh, and I just started getting into Tomb Raider like three days ago. How serendipitous.
