wait, one of Maxwells equations states that monopoles are impossible, that's a lot of textbooks that would have to be rewritten 😂

They "rewrite" them every year anyway so might as well get some new science in there

IIRC he wrote his equations assuming that magnetic monopoles are impossible because we’ve never found one. There are a lot of things that would be more symmetric if they existed, though.

Maxwell’s equations have already been rewritten into the Dirac equation. Magnetic monopoles are quantum weird and would not show up in undergrad textbooks regardless

Weren't Magnetic Monopoles discovered a few yars ago already? Im sure i saw some article about it.
