Calling this a democrat thing is trumpist-putinist propaganda, though.
It is a democratic thing and has nothing to do with Trump or Putin. Biden enabled and allowed this particular death and misery. His political party defended that.
Sure Trump is much worse, everyone realizes it. It’s just a shame many people think endorsing, minimizing these crimes is the go to strategy.
And the crimes are not a done deal that people can ignore later. What happens when tens of thousands of people start dying every month?
Get involved and become a precinct committee person! They vote on the state committee persons, which vote on the national committee persons, which write the parties platform (which then gets ignored by the parties leaders). Most areas are hurting for people and you can win at least on the PC level by default. I made it to state committee person with barely any effort!
Or you can just sit and complain that the party is out of touch.
That's a very privileged take.
Millions of people lack the time, energy, and sometimes health required to do all or indeed any of that.
Demanding that those who can't don't exercise their right to dissent is discriminative.
We've gone from "if you don't vote you have no right to complain" to "if you don't dedicate time to running for office in matter how reactionary your area is, you have no right to complain."
There is always more things you can do that are better for your cause than complaining to random people. You have the right to complain, but you do not have the right for that to magically be effective.
Eventually it's going to be "if you're not at least a second term member of Congress, you have no right to complain"
I was in the hospital for 3 weeks straight the first time I was appointed to a PC. All it took was going to one meeting and signing a form. If you don't have the time, energy, and health to write your name one time, maybe you shouldn't be writing the party platform.

It's an unpaid volunteer position with a fancy title. At least a time share has some utility.
May I please have rent and food money since I will be needing to stop working to start campaigning for local officies? Can I also now have money for different healthcare that is tied to work?
I'll happily give you links to donate if you put your money where your mouth is, I've been wanting to run for office in my deep red community. No guarantees they'd vote for a queer disabled leftist however.
To become a appointed PC, you have to go to one democratic party meeting after normal working hours and fill out a form. That is it - I was in the hospital over the course of 3 weeks when I first was appointed. No election necessary - and I'm sure your rural red community would be happy to have you just as mine did with me. The higher levels differ from state to state, but the state committee was just one 2 hour zoom meeting every 4 months for me.

Where is the Palestinian state supposed be? In the territories where Israel has already built illegal settlements, or the territories where Israel will build illegal settlements?
Look, the Palestinian people are fucked. They just are. The process of replacing British Mandate Palestine with the state of Israel has long since been set into motion, and it's unlikely to be stopped. Any idea that there can be both a Palestine and an Israel state is nonsense, espoused by people who are either foolish or being disingenuous. The existence of Israel and the existence of Palestine are two mutually exclusive prospects. It is one or the other, it's as simple as that, and the Palestinians simply don't have the military capability to defeat the Israelis. That's large in part because Israel has backing from the United States, the world's dominant military super power. For numerous complex reasons, the US chose to support Israel in this conflict. I don't like it, I wish the US had remained neutral, but that's just not what happened.
I'm really not sure what else the Democrats could do. If the Democrats were to come out and publicly state what I just said, true though it may be, they would be crucified by Americans who still foolishly believe that there can be an independent Palestinian state. Do the Palestinians deserve to have their own state? I believe they do. I believe every group of people deserves autonomy and independence. But, it doesn't always happen. In fact, it often doesn't. It's just not possible for the entirety of the territory once known as British Mandate Palestine to be both Israel and Palestine, it must be one or the other. Sure, the territory could be divided, but is either side really willing to accept such a compromise at this point? When Palestinians chant, "from the river to the sea," they are not advocating for a two state solution. And we know Israel doesn't actually want a two state solution, because they continue to encroach further and further into Palestinian territory. I don't think the Palestinians want Israel to exist any more than the Israelis want Palestine to exist. This is a zero sum game, and Palestine is going to lose because Israel has support from the US. It's not fair, but that's the way it is.
If leftists or progressives want to help the Palestinian people, the best thing they can do is help any Palestinians who want to, relocate to the United States. That doesn't give the Palestinian people autonomy or independence, but it will save many Palestinian lives.
This is the best take on the subject, however much it sucks. The situation is completely fucked and has been for decades. The only thing not mentioned - especially in the context of hopes of a full blown arms embargo - is that since 2008 the US is legally obligated to supply Israel with enough arms to maintain a “qualitative military edge” against all enemies, both state and non-state actors.^[1]
