What makes you think this is an exterior door? The flooring is the same.

Appears it is an interior door of an abandoned castle, based on the reply from Bagel5941

Most interior doors don’t have something that looks like what could be an apartment room number sign.

edit: but I suppose it could be an interior door, the sign isn’t clear enough to read

The sign says "the crooked room" and it was used to threaten naughty children with. Probably.

well, the walls I can see in there do resemble a dungeon of some kind.

Not sure this is real but it's the closest I could find to the origin of the image dated April 2nd, 2021.

in much more interesting news, today at work I got to explore an abandoned 500-year-old castle, seized by the state because of the owner's massive tax evasion

So yes the place is 500yo, but it has been renovated 40 years ago, after being half destroyed during WWII. So it's got ugly 80s decor vibes. And yes it's called a château

Tumblr still getting it done, thanks for sharing!

"I keep warning you. Doors and corners, kid. That's where they get you..."

[–] bloopernova@programming.dev 9 points 2 years ago (2 children)

Can you even get through that doorway in a wheelchair?

[–] mateomaui@reddthat.com 7 points 2 years ago

after you kick the door in and squeeze your chair together a bit, maybe

[–] Emperor@feddit.uk 2 points 2 years ago

Would you want to?

[–] ursakhiin@beehaw.org 8 points 2 years ago

Not gonna lie. I'd buy a house with a door like that inside. Especially if that wall was behind it.

[–] ApathyTree@lemmy.dbzer0.com 7 points 2 years ago

Ah yes, the door you stub your toe on regardless if it’s open or not. Brilliant design.

[–] Treczoks@feddit.uk 7 points 2 years ago

Wrong sales pitch. Should have been "A new and innovative way to cut corners"

[–] itsyourmom@artemis.camp 5 points 2 years ago

My OCD is pissed they folded the door off center…. 😑

Stupid remark, but this door cannot stay closed, does it ?

[–] Turun@feddit.de 5 points 2 years ago

There are latching mechanisms. Sliding doors exist.

[–] mateomaui@reddthat.com 3 points 2 years ago (1 children)

yeah, that’s where I was going with the headline. it probably does latch and stay closed… barely. as long as you don’t bump it too hard. maybe. this is all speculation.

[–] roawre@feddit.ch 4 points 2 years ago

Omg i didn't understand :) I was like "what does security has to do with a door in a corner..." Sry, silly me

[–] Furbag@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

"Fuck open concept! I hate having large open spaces in my house unimpeded by the safety and security of solid doors and walls!"
