I stand by what I said in the dbzero vote
i look forward to posting to communities that are federated publicly into the fediverse
I've always said we should federate with any instance that isn't actually full of nazis. Let the libs in!!
Also that Fediverselore comm is nauseating imo but it is basically what the DunkTank is any week someone happens to notice a thread about Hexbear somewhere - no opinion on that personally. would not care if it was removed or not.
Let's try and see what happens. We can always defederate again.
Can't plant seeds without access to the fields.
The initial federation were particularly combative days, and it's cooled down a fair amount. They also have a quite small userbase, so we can introduce a few people to the positive side of Hexbear, without dramatically changing the experience for Hexbears.
lemmy.ca voted against federation, so I'm not sure it matters.
The way the lemmy.ca post is written it just seems like there will drama within days and it will be a whole thing with someone defederating again. Like what has fundamentally changed from the lemmy.ca admins POV that they think it would be worth it?
Democracy in action
we have good enough blocking functionality now we don't need to be a hermit kingdom (as much as i love the DPRK)
If the canuck mods can keep their chuds in line so they aren't harassing marginalized comrades I think we'll be fine.
After a little browse I doubt its gonna last long. They don't have our power but our communities seem to be ideologically incompatible and as such we are just going to clash.
It would be funny
Whining about pig poop balls was their first reason to block us
:dean-smile:
Unlimited posting upon lemmy libs
I've gone too long without dunking
