Nick Cave - Frogs (2024) (www.youtube.com)
submitted 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago) by cabbage@piefed.social to c/music@lemmy.world

From Nick Cave's latest album, Wild God.

The song prompted a fan to ask Cave the following:

what makes you decide whether a lyric is great or should be dumped cos it’s utter shit, cos, and I mean this in the nicest possible way, you walk a very fine tightrope between the two, my man.

Which Nick Cave chose to personally answer on his website. It's a fine read.

Not just a great question, but a wonderful answer! Nick Cave, man. You brilliant enigmatic maniac dancing with light in your eyes and on your face. I hear you.

Nick Cave is the best salt. Beautiful and thoughtful. This song reminds me Blood Meridian; especially the last passage of the book. Through the darkness and gloom, our pursuits give us hope, connect us and continue on without us
