Yep, still don't care about Hunter or how wild he is. He isn't working in the white house, he's not a government employee, he's just the president's son. Do better AP.

[-] AngrilyEatingMuffins@kbin.social 2 points 11 months ago

He’s very similar to Trump’s kids in that he repeatedly tries to leverage his father for stuff he’s undeserving of. We should care a bit, because we should care about nepotism, even if it’s not his father’s nepotism.

[-] madcaesar@lemmy.world 15 points 11 months ago

Trump literarily installed his children in the government. Don't you dare bOtH sIdEs this bullshit.

[-] AngrilyEatingMuffins@kbin.social 1 points 11 months ago

You know the FBI investigated hunter and his uncle for trying to start a financial firm where they tried to sell access to Biden, yeah? Sure, this was decades ago, but come on. This shit is shady as hell and the fact that he’s become a partisan football to the degree that democrats are standing up for pretty obvious nepotism is gross. You think hunter fucking Biden is deservedly getting on boards of major companies? Sure it’s not the level of corruption of the trump family but that means it’s okay?

[-] madcaesar@lemmy.world 5 points 11 months ago

Again, I voted for JOE BIDEN, into the US GOVERNMENT. I don't give a shit about Hunter. If he does illegal shit I'll be the first to call him to get prosecuted and thrown in jail.

Trump installed his children into direct government positions, THAT matters. His brood actually sold access worth billions.

So, until you've finished prosecuting Trump and his criminal offspring, I don't want to hear you attack Joe for his children because you don't actually care about the crimes committed.

[-] AngrilyEatingMuffins@kbin.social 1 points 11 months ago

How am I attacking anyone? You’re taking, “hunter Biden has clearly shown he’s not the person anyone in their right mind wouldn’t put on a board of directors without additional reasons” is an attack? Or insane? Jesus Christ congratulations, I held my nose and voted for that ancient Clarence Thomas supporter just like everyone else sane. Doesn’t mean I have to be cool with the kids of rich and powerful people getting away with unearned shit while the rest of us toil

But enjoy your boot. I wonder what democrat boot tastes like? It’s probably more like democrat sensible loafers.

How does this impact politics exactly?

GOP talking points are worthless 😂

[-] TheOneWithTheHair@lemmy.world 6 points 11 months ago

And yet somehow Trump got elected. Half of the country was gleefully chanting "lock her up!" and ignoring "I like to grab 'em by the pussy". because "that's just locker room talk." His base will listen to everything he says and ignore what they don't want. Taking away fuel from his fire is important. Unless you want round two of hurricane Trump in Washington.

[-] PeleSpirit@lemmy.world 2 points 11 months ago

Not half the country, less than half of the people who voted because he didn't win the popular vote.

[-] handhookcardoor@lemmy.world 6 points 11 months ago

They are worthless, but they seem to work sometimes for the idiots of the country.

[-] BonesOfTheMoon@lemmy.world 14 points 11 months ago

I'm sure he doesn't want to draw further attention to poor Hunter, who is persecuted for no reason by Republicans, and perhaps cause his granddaughter to be harmed.

[-] TheOneWithTheHair@lemmy.world 12 points 11 months ago

But for her sake, at least he's acknowledging her. Imagine growing up and being called the one that grandpa wouldn't mention. This removes that from her, which I think is important, and I hope he at least recognized.

[-] BonesOfTheMoon@lemmy.world 13 points 11 months ago

Also true, you are correct. I just fear for that child because the Republicans are so weirdly obsessed with Hunter.

[-] TheOneWithTheHair@lemmy.world 3 points 11 months ago

She probably will be hounded by the media, but at least she won't have to deal with this too.

[-] OldWoodFrame@lemm.ee 1 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago)

There is no world where any of this is in Navy's best interest. Republicans are harping on it because they think it will hurt Biden, Biden is "publicly acknowledging for the first time" to prevent it from being a drain on that same campaign.

We don't know any of the interpersonal relationships at work here and certainly what is "publicly acknowledged" now vs in December 2024 is not going to cause psychological harm to a 4 year old.

[-] Openmindedskeptic@lemmy.blahaj.zone 12 points 11 months ago

Did we time travel? Are we now in Victorian England where an out-of-wedlock grandchild is some kind of scandal?? LOL

[-] AncientFutureNow@lemmy.world 12 points 11 months ago

I said it before and I'll say it again. I will never vote for Hunter Biden!

[-] sndmn@lemmy.ca 10 points 11 months ago

This is not at all political. Try harder.

[-] utopianfiat@lemmy.world 5 points 11 months ago

Who, and I cannot stress this enough, cares?

[-] MiddleWeigh@lemmy.world 3 points 11 months ago

I have no fantasys about Biden. He's old money, and more conservative than I would like. This "news" is in line with my perception of him. Idc.
