Japan's government admitted Monday manipulating an official photo of the new cabinet to make its members look less unkempt, after online mockery of their sagging trousers.

Images taken by local media showed what appeared to be an untidy patch of white shirt under the morning suits of Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba and Defense Minister Gen Nakatani.

In the official photo issued by Ishiba's office, these blemishes had mysteriously disappeared, but not quickly enough to stop a barrage of mockery of the "untidy cabinet" on social media.

The untidiness isn’t as odd as the impression that they’re all wearing almost-matching one-size-fits-all outfits that were passed out five minutes before the photo shoot.

lol is this what passes for "scandal" in Japan? They are so fortunate.

They have actual scandals, but they are meticulous at cleaning them up and their journalism rarely exposes them fully.

But this one is adorable, and extremely Japanese in nature.

The untidiness is what's on their mind? This dude straight up shit his pants and can't look at the camera.

So they have added 7 more members, removed one of the girls and the leader has had eye surgery. What other differences can you spot? Also the guy in the second row far left has had his hair photoshopped 😆
