I’d rather have an alt account on another instance

[-] EatMyDick@lemmy.world 1 points 11 months ago

Need to be able to aggregate accounts into lists as well.

[-] mojo@lemm.ee 31 points 11 months ago

Good reason to swap to instances that aren't prudes

[-] damnson@lemmy.world 28 points 11 months ago

Who wants to scroll past porn in between news and memes? I don’t understand that level of thirst

[-] OtakuAltair@lemm.ee 8 points 11 months ago

Just disable nsfw in your settings?

Non nsfw instances like blahaj also have porn comms, you just don't see them in your feed because they're not as popular as the ones in lemmynsfw.

Defederating well moderated instances like lemmynsfw ultimately does nothing but harm Lemmy overall

[-] mojo@lemm.ee 3 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago)

You can just turn off or blur NSFW posts in your settings. Also why when you create an account it asks you if you want to optionally enable NSFW content. That's an already solved problem. You don't need to defederate for that.

Adults with healthy control of themselves and a respect for reality

[-] damnson@lemmy.world -1 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago)

I imagine you also have a pornhub tab open on your PC at all times so you can check in every couple of minutes and “control yourself” while you “respect reality”

[-] Ilovethebomb@lemmy.world 8 points 11 months ago

It's more a case of time and place, I don't want porn when I'm browsing the news, and vice versa.

[-] mojo@lemm.ee 9 points 11 months ago

then literally just don't check the "show nsfw" content when you sign up. I beg of you just to open your settings a single time and see what's there, it's not complicated.

[-] Ilovethebomb@lemmy.world 7 points 11 months ago

There are some NSFW posts that I do want to see though, mostly involving Russian soldiers having things dropped on them from a drone.

The porn just clutters up the feed.

[-] kmkz_ninja@lemmy.world 8 points 11 months ago

Yeah, this seems like a really opportune time to finally make differentiation between porn/nudity and gore/violence when it comes to tags. Be it NSFW vs NSFL or whatever. Reddit should have addit it a long time ago. Lemmy should try to.

[-] Ilovethebomb@lemmy.world 4 points 11 months ago

That is a good suggestion actually.

Personally, I'd rather have a separate account for smut, but I'm happy to just block NSFW instances on my main account.

[-] mojo@lemm.ee 1 points 11 months ago

That's weird as hell but Lemmy should soon implement the block domain feature so you can block them yourself while keeping nsfw from other domains enabled. I don't get it but u do u.

[-] eestileib@sh.itjust.works 3 points 11 months ago

Maintaining separate accounts is even easier, I've got accounts for the different ways I want to pass the time on the internet, and when I'm in the mood I use my lemmynsfw account.

[-] yetAnotherUser@feddit.de 4 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago)

It's not (only) the instances, it's the law prohibiting (some) these instances from allowing minors to access porn.

[-] mojo@lemm.ee 1 points 11 months ago

In that way lol. If they don't enable the checkbox, they can simply navigate to the website themselves.

[-] can@sh.itjust.works 24 points 11 months ago

What kind of nsfw are the memes? I have nsfw disabled on my acct because I didn't want to scroll through porn in public.

[-] sabreW4K3@lemmy.tf 13 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago)

They're not particularly explicit. Most of them are just talking about sex. There was some toothbrushes that got reported for being too risque once though.

I would recommend keeping the blur on and subscribing and then you can ignore it all unless you're in subscribed and even then it's just suggestive talk of normal looking memes mostly.

[-] newIdentity@sh.itjust.works 5 points 11 months ago

I just can't escape the Monogatari references

You can't even say "bitch" on lemmy.ml

"a female dog" for my .ml friends

Holy shit that's 11 years old?

[-] bobs_monkey@lemm.ee 1 points 11 months ago

We getting old, yo

[-] Freshfrozenplasma@sh.itjust.works 3 points 11 months ago

That was delightful, thank you!

[-] Verbose2812@reddthat.com 6 points 11 months ago

that's pretty boring.

well at least we can enjoy their content without their limitations, since we see it from a different instance.

[-] can@sh.itjust.works 3 points 11 months ago

While it may make some of our comments confusing to them I am glad we can still interact.

[-] HardlightCereal@lemmy.world 2 points 11 months ago

I think it was something to do with child porn being posted to lemmynsfw?

[-] Ryumast3r@lemmy.world 24 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago)

Not childporn. There's a community called "adorableporn" that originally had, as part of its description "childlike" (other descriptors were things like "cute") while being very clear that everyone on that community was 18+ (and even validating questionable posts with age verification). The wording of "childlike" has since been removed to ensure no confusion.

There was no instance of childporn being allowed.

[-] can@sh.itjust.works 30 points 11 months ago

Whoever put "child like" in the first place is moron who probably shouldn't be a part of such community.

[-] Ryumast3r@lemmy.world 13 points 11 months ago

No disagreement there, just clarifying that it wasn't child porn.

[-] can@sh.itjust.works 6 points 11 months ago

And that clarification is good, so thank you.

[-] kibiz0r@lemmy.world 6 points 11 months ago

Apparently they verbatim copy-pasted from a dictionary.

[-] can@sh.itjust.works 6 points 11 months ago

Really no excuse for such delicate subject matter.

[-] MossyFeathers@pawb.social 7 points 11 months ago

There's also a community called fauxbait which is/was absolutely dedicated to finding porn that looked underage.

[-] can@sh.itjust.works 4 points 11 months ago
[-] GreenDust@lemmings.world 4 points 11 months ago
[-] HardlightCereal@lemmy.world 2 points 11 months ago

Oh, so it's like r/jailbait?

[-] Ryumast3r@lemmy.world 18 points 11 months ago

Jailbait was the opposite. Technically covered up minors. Adorableporn is unclothed adults.

[-] mojo@lemm.ee 8 points 11 months ago

Straight up not true lol

[-] PrivateNoob@sopuli.xyz 7 points 11 months ago

Literally this. I was kinda bummed out that nsfw instances are blocked on my instance. I can use alt accounts tho.

[-] 001100010010@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago)

lemmy.blahaj.zone

Edit: idk how to spell it lol

[-] sabreW4K3@lemmy.tf 2 points 11 months ago

I think they silently federated again

[-] 001100010010@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 11 months ago

What? It's still listed under "Blocked Instances"

[-] Agentseed@kbin.social 2 points 11 months ago

join me on https://tsck.org I'm fine with nsfw
