Welcome to !reddit. This is a community for all news and discussions about Reddit.
The rules for posting and commenting, besides the rules defined here for lemmy.world, are as follows:
Rule 1- No brigading.

YSKs are about self-improvement on how to do things.
Rule 2- No illegal or NSFW or gore content.
**No illegal or NSFW or gore content. **
Rule 3- Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here.
Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here. Breaking this rule will not get you or your post removed, but it will put you at risk, and possibly in danger.
Rule 4- No self promotion or upvote-farming of any kind.
That's it.
Rule 5- No baiting or sealioning or promoting an agenda.
Posts and comments which, instead of being of an innocuous nature, are specifically intended (based on reports and in the opinion of our crack moderation team) to bait users into ideological wars on charged political topics will be removed and the authors warned - or banned - depending on severity.
Rule 6- Regarding META posts.
Provided it is about the community itself, you may post non-Reddit posts using the [META] tag on your post title.
Rule 7- You can't harass or disturb other members.
If you vocally harass or discriminate against any individual member, you will be removed.
Likewise, if you are a member, sympathiser or a resemblant of a movement that is known to largely hate, mock, discriminate against, and/or want to take lives of a group of people, and you were provably vocal about your hate, then you will be banned on sight.
Rule 8- All comments should try to stay relevant to their parent content.
Rule 9- Reposts from other platforms are not allowed.
Let everyone have their own content.
Rule 10- Majority of bots aren't allowed to participate here. This includes using AI responses and summaries.

9y7m with 200k+ karma. I had used Reddit to look at porn for few years before that but finally made an account to ask some tech support question...
I got perma banned not quite a month ago, it was a pretty shitting thing I did so probably deserved it. Definitely helped me in jumping ship.
Pretty sure I was at 11 years. Not going back to check
Almost 18 years for me, I left Digg for Reddit over the HD DVD thing. It was really hard to leave.
had an 11 year old account. Deleted it
My oldest account is just under 14 years old. I only visit to check on the status of my data download, and check on one sub once a month.
Yeah, I'm a 10 yearer. Shame, I loved Rif.
11 year old reddit account deleted, plus an anon alt for gaming stuff.
I had no interest in using reddit without Apollo anyway, but the way they treated Selig and the other devs was just mind blowing. The treatment of mods after I'd already deleted everything just made me more sure I'd made the right decision.
There since 2009. That's about when I started mainlining the internet. Glad to watch it burn here with all of you. Cheers!
I started using around 2013, a guy in my math class showed me the site, and I hadn't taken a single day off until a couple of days after the r*ddit ama. Now I will live and die on Lemmy
My account is 13, but lurked a bit before that. Never installed the official app. Used RES for desktop, and Boost for mobile.
14 year account, I'm done with reddit.
Not sure how long exactly, but probably more than 10 years. And I'm gone!
15+ years here. I would login and check exactly but I don't wanna give em any traffic 😆
Joined in 2008, left in 2023.. the only constant is change
12 years. The couple times I have gone back since joining here I can't help but notice how toxic the comments are. Didn't notice it before... Must've been a boiling frog phenomenon .
Much more joyous here. I'm hoping that vibe stays around here for a little while.
My main account over there isn't that old, but I've been using the site off/on for probably at least that long. I mainly was a reader/lurker over there for years as I didn't really feel like posting as at the time almost everything I posted got downvoted for some reason. Then over time as I got older I cared less about that and started posting more. Last I checked I think my karma was 100,000-something.
5y, I really miss Unexpected sub
It's good to be on the old internet. 10+ years, 300k nuked karma. I still have my account to take care of some subs but the activity is here.
13+ here, haven't gone to browse it since they announced the third party changes - despite, I think, my chosen app still working, I removed the shortcut from my home screen and it pretty much stopped me. Few days of awkward muscle memory tapping the area it used to be (embarrassing?)
I had to go and check. 11+ years it seems - oh how the time flies. I was pretty much a lurker so I didn't bother with cleaning up my history. I also never used Digg - I guess I've grown up during the period that Digg was sinking and Reddit gained it's popularity.
Yet it's weird how easily I could replace Reddit with Lemmy after such time. Sure, there isn't an Apollo replacement on iOS but to be honest, I don't currently even want one. Most of the communities have started migrating here as well so I'm not missing anything relevant after all.
Me
I joined the week that the Rampart ama took place. Reddit's been shite since about 2015 so I'm happy to have found something that feels a bit like those early days.
2008 for me.
16+ years. No intentions of going back. The Fediverse is cool, and I’m enjoying it.
11 years over here!
My oldest account was 11.5 years old. Together the 3 of them had half a million karma. Used Relay for most of that time. Haven't used any of my accounts since the API shutdown. This made me not want even visit the site anymore.
Not quite there yet, but 8 years and left with Sync.
I was on Reddit since Digg went the way of the dodo. Changed accounts one time, the one I deleted when Apollo died was just shy of 10 years. It was tough.
I was there for nearly fifteen years. Been looking for an excuse to dump Reddit for a couple years now, ever since lockdown when I got in the habit of checking Reddit a dozen times a day.
Yep, I left when it was announced Apollo was shutting down.
Would have 12 years in August here. There's some fandom-centric communities that I miss from my old reddit sub list, but honestly I'm thoroughly enjoying lemmy. I mostly stuck to the official app and the desktop old reddit before dropping it for lemmy, It's so damn nice not seeing He Gets Us ads or casino ads like every 4-5 posts. I left reddit just about when they announced the API cost changes and was like, welp that's going to kill everything. I got an email about Lemmy SDF because of my Mastodon and basically said hey might as well jump ship now and check this thing out.
I was a 10 year lurker. Actually post a bit on here..
+1
My account turns 11 on August 11th... lurking 2-3 years prior. As soon as the news was dropped about API changes I came over here and switched between the two. Stopped using reddit overall once my app wasn't supported. I miss my small communities and the news from my city but I can't continue to support it
I left at the start of the blackout which was 2 weeks under 10 years for me.
