I've always loved the medieval fantasy mmorpg genre, hell my first mmorpg experience was Everquest when I was around 7-8 years old just crafting and moving around the map for my pops' characters (since you know I thought I was really playing the game and I found that fun at the time). Then I got into RS for like 2-3 years when that came out and have been just moving around (never touched WoW it just didnt seem to click with me the way that Everquesst did) til I stumbled into SWTOR managing to somehow have my pops pay my weekly sub about a year ago or so lightsabers and blasters are cool fight me.

But after coming back from a college course related week long trip I kinda stopped playing SWTOR and as a broke college student was looking into free mmorpgs to give a try and when I saw Guild Wars 2 I figured I'd finally give it a shot 3 days ago or so since I was under the impression that it was a sub service and was kinda excited to play it knowing it was free.

I've gotta say that this game has dragged me into it with the fury of a monster hiding under a child's bed.

There's just something that clicks in my small brain when I login to play, sure it took me about 7 or 8 character creations to figure out which race to start with between the Asura and the Sylvari since as a free player I've only got 2 character slots at the moment and it was harder to pick a profession I kept hovering between Thief and Mesmer up to around lvl 10 or so but ultimately decided on doing Elementalist with dagger/dagger and man this profession is awesome being a small little boy swapping elements jumping into groups and rolling my keyboard with the different abilities just sets off some weird thing in my head saying this is the way. I tried to stay away from the profession due to the numerous videos on YouTube saying it was a pretty hard profession to learn as a new player but my eyes kept looking over at it in the character selection and I'm glad I followed my gut cause man this profession is awesome.

In the three days I've played so far a total of 34 hours on this toon and a collective total of 40 hours across all my characters I've made and deleted I'm just 3 lvls away from 80 and have gotten to 24% map completion. And I never really got bored doing any of it I played from around 9am to about 5am the next day without realising it. And I'm excited to keep playing this game for a long while.
