Cool, a Trump sales tax. Will it bring manufacturing jobs to the US? No, but it’ll help offset tax cuts for rich people by shifting some of the tax burden to poor people for 4 years and give them cover for downsizing.
Then when we elect a corporate-friendly Democrat to undo some of the damage in 2028, corporations can just lower prices by 5%, claim a win, and enjoy another collective price gouge. Fake inflation taught us that consumers will just suffer through their bullshit and blame whoever’s in office.
Then in 2032… another fascist can do tariffs again.
What a great country.

This inveigling of the American public needs to stop, and democrats need to start absolutely flooding every single media outlet possible with rebuttals. You don’t charge a foreign country tariffs, you charge your own country the tariffs; but the deceptive phrasing here is an intentional misleading of people who don’t understand global economics.
Democrats are way too "nice guy energy" for that, they literally did a 180 on calling Trump a fascist the moment he got elected even though they are 100% correct. It's insane. Joe will literally walk himself into his prison cell if it would mean that he would look the more civilized person.
I so wish he does that.
Then very, VERY quickly, Americans would start paying out the wazoo for the stuff they used to get for cheap - because Mexico and China sure as hell ain't footing the bill, something Trump very conveniently forgets to mention.
And then guess who'll they'll blame? The orange utan in the White House who promised to make them richer but instantly made them poorer instead.
Americans punished the democrats for economic issues that were largely out of their control, and they'll just as quickly turn against Trump if he makes their situation even worse. In fact, they'll turn against him even harder because he promised to fix the economy.
So yeah, please Donald, make my day. Do it!

I mean that's part of it but Harris (and the DNC at large) saying "the economy is perfect and I would do nothing to change it" definitely didn't help.
Dude... If we've learned anything lately, it's that the people who voted for him will perform mental gymnastics that would earn a 10 from the Russian judge in order to avoid admitting they were wrong about anything
