I have Dragons Crown installed on my 3, and the 5 just shipped so I'm gonna wait for that to see how it runs.

I completely missed the Vita as a system, never so much as touched one. What are your favorite games on it? Bonus points if it's not graphically intense and doesn't take too much power.

Wipeout 2048 if there's a way to get it to run at 60fps. Its a good wipeout but 30fps kinda stanky for a wipeout game

Will check, thanks!

Killzone Mercenary is the best game in the series with a really, really fun campaign.

Yoooooo mine is supposed to arrive Friday! So I'm saving this post for the recommendations.

Some of these will have since release elsewhere so you may have played them anyway but I'll list off some of my favourites.

Persona 4 Golden

Freedom Wars

Unit 13

Lumines

Disgaea 3

Virtues Last Reward (Also known as Zero Escape, the sequel to 999)

Valkyrie Chronicles

Natural Doctrine

Motorstorm RC

Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel

There are a few other titles that are always highly recommended such as Gravity Rush but I personally could never get into that game. I played a lot of PSP and PS1 games on mine too so my memory is a bit muddied by those but I believe these are all Vita specific games.

I still have my Vita at home that I break out sometimes for long journeys on trains and the like. It is such a good size and shape for carrying around without being a burden!

Look at the agent of chaos here only recommending the first Trails of Cold Steel which ends in a massive cliffhanger.

CS1 spoiler

Crow did nothing wrong, uncritical support to the Imperial Liberation Front in their struggle to free all of Zemuria from the genocidal Erebonian Empire

You shouldn't really play the Vita version of that, though. Ys VIII is another Falcom classic that started on the Vita, but that version is vastly inferior.

;)

I was trying to suggest only games I have actually played myself and enjoyed and I have only played the first one as the wait for the second seemed to go on forever and by the time it came out I wasn't using the vita anywhere near as much. I do also enjoy choas however :p

Would you recommend it? I want to go back and play the first again but I have too many games vying for my attention!

I enjoyed the earlier Ys games but never played any of the vita specific ones so again didn't want to recommend things I hadn't actually played :)

Sick list, thanks! A number of those I've played on pc, but ill check most of them out!

No worries, if you like games like Freedom Wars then Soul Sacrifice and God Eater will also be worth checking out.

If you like Dragons Crown then check out Muramasa.

Danganronpa is also worth having a look into.

You also have World of Final Fantasy, Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth and Dragon Quest Builders that could interest you.

I loved Everbody's Golf 6 if you fancy a bit of golf.

The port of NFS Most Wanted is probably the best racing game but it is far from the best version of that game.

I'll stop now, but have fun!

I've been on an NFS kick and just finished all the PSP ones actually so thanks for letting me know that exists!

Soul Sacrifice Delta, it's kinda like monster hunter but with sorcerers and horrible Grimm fairytale-inspired monsters

+1 for SSD, it’s probably one of the weirdest action games I’ve played and the story/setting is very unique, it was by far my favorite game on the vita.

The ratchet and clank collection on vita isnt the best port, but it's a good enough way to experience those classics.

[–] NephewAlphaBravo@hexbear.net 3 points 12 hours ago (2 children)

There's also God of War and Metal Gear Solid ports on there, although I haven't tried them myself

I'd pick emulating the ps2 versions of god of war directly since the retroid 5 should be able to handle that. The vita ports have really really bad audio quality among other issues but the audio is just....

The MGS HD collection on any other platform is a better choice. The Vita versions are rather compromised, and MGS3 in particular is a challenge to play. e.g. 30fps, even more awkward controls, and the HD "collection" doesn't even include Peace Walker like how it did on PS3.

That said, playing MG1 and MG2 on the Vita through MGS3 HD is a good experience.

Hell yeah sick thanks!
