The other side

Obverse side of the same Soviet 5 kopek coin. It has a large numeral 5, beneath it the word "kopeyek" written in Cyrillic, beneath that in turn the numerals 1989. This lettering is surrounded by a wreath of wheat.

Sorry about the image quality.

Context: 17 days ago @MohammedTheCommunistPalestinian@hexbear.net posted a picture of a Soviet coin he has in his possession, titling it "Proof of why I am a much cooler person than you 😎", and I mentioned in the comments under that post that I had a Soviet coin myself. Now that I'm back home I took the opportunity to snap a picture of it.

Damn ,you’re cool

I had that coin in my possession because my dad’s uncle was a communist and studied there

How did you get it ?

[–] Erika3sis@hexbear.net 7 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Frankly, I don't quite remember how I got the coin. I'm decently sure I got it in connection with the local classifieds, which is not nearly as cool as having a family member who actually studied in the USSR... So it seems you still come out on top as the coolest person here.

he actually studied in Hungary but he was a communist so he visited the USSR and other communist states too ,may allah have mercy on him

he died a communist but in Palestine ,my mom told me ,she says hes my dads only uncle that she likes

also I have met him so many times in my life but only discovered that he was a communist recently cause my mom brought it up

I love how you managed to really bring that mesh into focus.

I feel like this is sarcastic...

[–] JustSo@hexbear.net 3 points 1 week ago

I'm sorry I'm still irony poisoned. It's a cool coin. AND a cool mesh.

From how high and over who? thinkin-lenin

I'm not sure but we should probably use some vietnamese dong just for the chuckles, and these coins are too precious to waste dropping off buildings onto the financial district.

I know. :( it's fun to think about though. Dropping literal money onto the heads of wallstreet with fatal consequences.

We're gonna need some sort of mass accelerator I think.

Lol, the video covers it. Use the Australian 50cent piece and spin it down on its edge.

Yeah they're heavy fuckers.

I found a YouTube link in your comment. Here are links to the same video on alternative frontends that protect your privacy:

Is that the Fractal Design Meshify (underneath)?

[–] Erika3sis@hexbear.net 2 points 1 week ago

I don't think so, it's this little thing with a fan that I'd plug into my old laptop to keep it from overheating.
