Yeah I've also been trying but it really hasn't clicked for me
More focused on the survival than the crafting side, but I've really been "enjoying" Green Hell lately. Something about how manual and tactile and just hard the crafting is makes it really satisfying when you manage to carve out even the most limited camp for yourself
I really liked Green Hell. Including the story parts - the way they were presented was awesome. It was sadly a bit too short though, and also you lacked incentive to build an actual base (still did it for fun though).
There's the first part of a free update/prequel out now with a new map (I think they're planning three parts), and it's a bit more friendly to you staying put in the middle of the map and spending ages building yourself a luxury mudbrick mansion

for me, it has some really fun exploration. it has a great atmosphere too.
I haven't played it but it does seem like a game that shines with friends.
Couldn't get into it myself. maybe down the line i'll check it out again but it was really underwhelming when I tried it.
It's basically a standard survival game, but it has some nice differences
its fun with friends in the same way every game is fun with friends, so idk if that will improve anything other than being able to sing sea shanties together while sailing or something
I feel exactly the same way about Subnautica, Stardew Valley, Rimworld, all extremely acclaimed games.
Don’t play video games, start going for runs and getting swole.
I don't play many games, I got it cuz low end linux computer, and it works!
It's got good progression, it doesn't waste your time with shitloads of grind, you can build really neat viking houses, it's pve coop, and you get to do viking shit with your viking friends. Also: sailing.
And yes, you have to play it online with friends. It's much, much better as a group experience.
