I remember the speeches from Clinton and Obama. They were using the gesture to express a multitude of people. Meaning they were swinging their arms in a gesture to represent all people's in the audience. These pictures are just a midway on that. If you watched the speeches, Obama was noted for trying to make all people's represented and included. Clinton followed suit by doing the same thing. Elon Musk totally threw a nazi salute

This is a stupid argument. In all of these cases including Elon the video gives the added context to prove none of them were doing the Nazi salute. Taking a still image and omitting all context should never be taken seriously.

With all of that said it is very clear from his words and other actions during that speech that he was literally trying to throw his heart out to the people in the crowd. Both the people in front of the podium and behind it.
If you want to get semantic about the details of the actual Nazi salute you need to use a pointed hand with all five fingers pointing forward. He had his palm outwards with a gap to his thumb both times he threw his heart out.
It's funny to me how considerate the left claims to be about people with mental health issues or disorders until it's someone they don't like. And then it's just "all made up" or "that's not how it really works".

For the record I live in a deep blue state and work in a very left leaning place. Nobody in this office likes Elon. There's not a single Tesla in the parking lot and I live somewhere that has more Tesla's than most places.

The "y'all" is me broadly addressing the Dems and anyone that would identify as left. I haven't seen anyone bashing the ADL from the left until this Elon situation. I mostly heard of people on the right saying the ADL sucks and is full of communists or whatever they feel like calling people they don't like that day.
This Elon thing happened and (to me) it looks like the teams did a lil swap. Suddenly the right loves the ADL for coming to defend their golden child and the left is saying the ADL have sucked for a long time.
Now it's probable I missed some grievances the left may have had for ADL in the past as I generally ignore things like the ADL. But that's not a slight against the ADL. I just don't listen to any 3 letter agencies. It goes against my religion.

amen. I am hoping Elon get's tired quickly and finds a new hobby. I do not think he did a Nazi salute. If the ADL changes their opinion then my opinion may change as well. Elon is just a goof ball and needs to step aside.

I hate the term for free speech. While I strongly believe in free speech. Nothing is absolute nor should it be.
You can't really pick and choose with free speech. It's sorta all or nothing with these things. If you say "well let's make a few rules about these words". Who decides which words? Do they ever get updated? Does each banned word or phrase get voted for if it stays banned or not? Is this a federal crime or a state issue? What's the punishment?
I think the current system of all things are legally fair game, but socially some things shouldn't be said or used in certain ways is perfectly fine. It sorta self updates and corrects with time, but it leaves open the option to say anything if need be.
I understand people not liking certain language, but often times they don't see the issue with legally banning things they don't like. They aren't thinking ahead to the possibility where there are things they would like to say and now cannot.
It isn’t all or nothing. The line is easy. We have lines currently. You can’t say you’re going to go murder someone with the intent and ability to do it. That’s illegal.
Oh ffs not this free speech dance again. Yes you can't make threats against people. That's not protected speech that's just a threat. In that case none of the words are against the law to use, but it's how you combined them and directed them at someone that becomes illegal. You also can't yell fire in a crowded building as that is considered inciting a riot or whatever. Again the words themselves are not against the law it's when and how they are used that is an issue.
