It will start by the US blowing up their critical energy infrastructure and destabilizing the region by provoking war with their neighbors, forcing Europe to simultaneously become more dependent on the US economically and militarily, coinciding with a nativist / isolationist and openly expansionistic shift in the dominant US ideology.
