Yes! Often, if I’m feeling pent up anxiety, it’s because I’ve spent too long being inactive. Doing something strenuous, whether it be an fun active excursion, or just some chores around the house to the point of exhaustion, eases my mind. Movement is so important for mental health.
Same here and precisely why this kind of thing is the first best thing at helping you out when you're feeling down.
It's why I prefer manual labour to other kinds of jobs.
I feel good doing it. And generally being able to see my progression in effect and then the finished product can be very satisfying.
Absolutely, there's nothing like that feeling. I learned it being a scout, it's as if the tiredness was the physical proof that you've accomplished something.
Yes! Last weekend went on a hike with friends up the tallest mountain in our county. My friend said that her favorite part of a hike is taking off her shoes at the end. And we all totally understood. Pure satisfaction of relaxation well earned.
Nothing better than feeling like your arms are going to fall off and your brain turned to mush after a day at the race track. If you don't feel exhausted you didn't try hard enough =)
I got to get the canoe back out on the river. One of my favorite parts about paddling and hiking is there's no option for failure, you have to make it. Gets you to push outside your comfort zone.
