More people should watch Peep Show. I couldn't stop myself once I started the binge, despite how incredibly awkward the scenes can get. They did some really great stuff with the POV and inner monologue aspects.

That Mitchell and Webb Look is also very good, and yes, there's more to it than "Are we the baddies?" and Numberwang!

Mitchell and Webb look is how I found Peep Show. I definitely prefer the variety/skit show to the sitcom but Peep Show is still pretty brilliant.

I love their Sir Digby Chicken Caesar sketches.

Well.... But it's not exactly brain surgery, is it?

Numberwang is still one of the funniest sketches ever though. It still gets me everytime.

Those two are actually like opposites. The brain surgery one somehow plays directly in to your expectations, where you see the punchline coming a mile away, and it still works, while numberwang works by just subverting every expectation you have.

Peep Show is one of the best comedy series of all time.

CMV: If you compare yourself to Hitler, that says a lot more about you than about Hitler

[–] Stamets@startrek.website 14 points 11 months ago (1 children)

First off, the amount of googling I had to do to find out that CMV means 'change my view' was surprising.

Second, nothing to change. Pretty accurate. However this is a comedy show...

How thick is wall?

[–] Anticorp@lemmy.ml 7 points 11 months ago (1 children)

What if you only compare yourself to the good parts? I'm a mediocre artist, much like Hitler.

[–] lugal@lemmy.ml 3 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Is being mediocre artist a good thing? I'm a much worse artist than he was.

[–] Ser_Salty@feddit.de 4 points 11 months ago

OMG, you're literally worse than Hitler

Idk, would the baddies support the genocide of the Gaza Strip, with a majority population of children?

Welcome to the real world.

If I remember correctly the point of the show is that they are both dicks. Relatable dicks.

... that's the bad thing
