I kinda resent the fact that I’m a lefty American in the 21st century. I could be so so so happy about the state of things, if only I were wired differently.
if these people were capable of being happy they wouldn't dedicate their entire lives to making people mad at all costs. they literally vote for things that might ruin their own lives just to own the libs. it's the classic bully: unloved, pathetic shits with nothing to live for, trying to step on others to feel worthy.
I disagree. Conservatism (and to a greater extent Nazism) are built on fear and hatred. The Republican party knows that and spends significant money and effort to make people as fearful as possible. The Republicans may win but they are fundamentally unhappy. Their happiness, if you can really call it that, is primarily Schadenfreude at "sticking it to the libs"
Buddy, this is a pathetic coping mechanism. You want so badly to believe they are miserable, because you just can't fathom that life would be so unfair as to make them happy.
As the lone liberal in a large family of conservatives, let me tell you, they're not miserable. My family group chat has been filled with happy vacation photos, play date arrangements for kids, jokes, and laughter.
The truth is, most conservatives don't actually care about "sticking it to the libs"; they just don't give a shit at all. They don't listen to the news, they don't talk about politics, they don't have any significant worries. They go to their straight, white, Christian churches; talk to their straight, white, Christian friends; and discuss how great their straight, white, Christian families are.
Of course they have fear and hatred of anything that isn't straight, white, or Christian; but that by no means makes them unhappy. They live in their bubbles, and inside their bubble, everything is nice and perfect. It's those filthy liberals, who were so cruel as to occasionally make them look outside of their bubble, that were the real problem. And now that they're out of office and they never have to leave or look outside their bubbles again, everything is once again perfect. Just perfect.
Substitute "Baptist" for "Christian," and you just exposed my entire extended family.

my mom supported trump in 2020, my teachers aren't allowed to speak of LGBT topics, books are banned, hell my teachers aren't allowed to legally use my name.
The only real thing keeping me from becoming a trump supporter was my sister.

Yeah, I’m confused too. Where does it say this is from /r/conservative? It says it’s posted on /r/self. Granted, I only ever used old Reddit, so maybe I’m missing something about this layout, but where’s the evidence this is at “the top of r conservative”?
