The frustration, it's hard to summit up.

[–] treasure@feddit.de 36 points 1 year ago (1 children)

That pun was truly peak performance.

[–] esadatari@lemmy.world 13 points 1 year ago (1 children)

personally, i know it would have made me feel quite cross about the whole situation.

That was the best pun. It’s all downhill from here

[–] Bagel@lemmy.ca 4 points 1 year ago

You underestimate how highly capable we are.

[–] ren@lemmy.world 71 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Infuriating?? That’s adorable!! One day you might really appreciate that finger in that shot when you think back on your mum.

[–] Squirrel@thelemmy.club 17 points 1 year ago (1 children)

That's a great point. I appreciate all of the blurry pictures from my late mother-in-law.

[–] ren@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Think of the thumb as a little ghost of your mum. Making her part of the photo and the moment.

[–] Evkob@lemmy.ca 59 points 1 year ago (2 children)

My mom's phone is full of videos of her saying "oh shit" because she meant to take a photo. I really need to make a backup of those for when she's gone.

[–] Enigma@sh.itjust.works 10 points 1 year ago

Do it!!! I had 1 recording of my moms voice on her iPhone. Then someone stole the phone. I wish so badly that I could hear her voice, it’s been 10yrs and I’ve forgotten what she sounded like.

My dad practices the guitar every morning. Has since he was in the army.

I’ve been recording him on the sly, for morbid reasons.

[–] Vodik_VDK@lemmy.world 30 points 1 year ago

The day will come that you cherish those photos more than the rest combined.

[–] dojan@lemmy.world 23 points 1 year ago (1 children)

You could remove that in post.

[–] treasure@feddit.de 29 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Surely I can do that, but I was still mildly infuriated.

[–] dojan@lemmy.world 10 points 1 year ago

Oh yeah I get that. I just meant that the pictures are salvageable!

[–] Diabolo96@lemmy.dbzer0.com 17 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

Use stable diffusion generative fill via Google colab to fix it for free and probably spend the next few weeks using it for hours and hours. Enjoy.

[–] Seeed@feddit.de 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Sounds interesting. Any links or good guides on how to do that or how to get started with stable diffusion?

[–] Pyroglyph@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

The original guide for the Auto1111 WebUI (the one most people use) is here: https://rentry.co/voldy It's how I got started with it too!

There is also a Docker version maintained by AbdBarho which you can find here: https://github.com/AbdBarho/stable-diffusion-webui-docker (this is what I use now)

[–] AzPsycho@lemmy.world 12 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Those are super easy to fix. Even the Google eraser could fix those easily.

[–] echo@sopuli.xyz 10 points 1 year ago (1 children)

you could also just crop it out in most of them

[–] Potatos_are_not_friends@lemmy.world 7 points 1 year ago (1 children)

That used to be mildly infuriating for me but I've been playing with a few photo AI tools and that stuff is easy to fix

[–] Swedneck@discuss.tchncs.de 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

By now you can just download a one-click setup for local stable diffusion, wait for it to install, and use the inpainting feature, don't even need proper image editing software.

[–] Tippon@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

If you don't mind me asking, do you have a link for the one-click setup please? I don't know where to start, but it sounds interesting :)

[–] Tronn4@lemmy.world 7 points 1 year ago

Snapseed as well as a plethora of free photo apps can erase those but keep these originals as is for memory

[–] redcalcium@lemmy.institute 4 points 1 year ago

Now you have an excuse to hike the same mountain again!

[–] 4triks@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

Quite lucky, my mom used to cut our heads off on pics !

[–] padjakkels@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

And she blurred you face!!

[–] intensely_human@lemm.ee 3 points 1 year ago (2 children)
[–] javasux@lemmy.world 16 points 1 year ago

those are the ones of her

[–] stephen01king@lemmy.zip 8 points 1 year ago

Those are photos of the mum, so her fingers are still in those photos.

[–] Guadin@k.fe.derate.me 2 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Where is this? Looks familiar, but then again a lot of summits do.

[–] treasure@feddit.de 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

This is in South Tyrol in Italy :)

[–] Guadin@k.fe.derate.me 2 points 1 year ago

Thanks, I thought it was in Tirol, Austria near Sölden. Close, but no sigar.

[–] LazaroFilm@artemis.camp 1 points 1 year ago

It’s at the top of a mountain.

[–] 15liam20@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

She wanted to be on tghe puctures too. I would be more concerned that she's given your faces the Japanese Testicle treatment.

[–] new_guy@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

No worries. Op uploaded their mom fingerprints on the internet as a revenge.

[–] Korne127@lemmy.world -2 points 1 year ago

That’s not mildly infuriating; that’s horrible and super infuriating!
I’m sorry :(
