Even more of it this morning. Going to have to shovel before I can decorate for Halloween :P

Thirtieth Day of TabOKtoberfest

  • Brush: Dogwood Handcrafts Tabak Oridjinal
  • Razor: Zwilling J. A. Henckels Friodur Unnumbered 8/8" ( hollow ground, stainless steel, round point)
  • Lather: Mäurer & Wirtz – Tabac Original
  • Post Shave: Mäurer & Wirtz – Tabac Original
  • Fragrance: Mäurer & Wirtz – Tabac Original

The honeymoon phase with this gentle giant continues. It's smooth, loud, and effortless. The size, the geometry, the audible feedback are right down my alley. To think that I had this blade lying around in my to fix pile for a year, this turned out to be a nice surprise hidden treasure.

Stank ++;

  • Brush: Yaqi 26mm Synthetic
  • Razor: Karve Overlander
  • Blade: Personna Platinum
  • Lather: Barrister And Mann - Paganini’s Violin - Soap
  • Post Shave: Barrister And Mann - Paganini’s Violin - Aftershave

Good shave. Decent amount of stubble to knock down this morning. The Overlander is always able to provide a nice smooth shave.

  • Brush: Maggard 24mm Synthetic
  • Razor: Chiseled Face - Legacy Raw Titanium (#69)
  • Blade: Derby Premium (3)
  • Lather: Viking Shaving Soap - Norway - Soap
  • Post Shave: Noble Otter - Logbook - Aftershave
  • Fragrance: Eau Factory - Noble - EdT

Viking Shaving Soap isn't very thirsty, but it does work ok. Looking at the guys website, it seems that he doesn't make soap anymore, and that's OK. He still has a form you can fill out for a custom brush handle which is too bad... he's a known copier of other peoples work.

  • Brush: Wald Stratos Haunter 29mm A1
  • Razor: Koraat 6/8" Full Hollow (Straight Shave 363)
  • Lather: Catie's Bubbles - Midnight Dreary - Soap
  • Post Shave: Combe Inc. - Aqua Velva Classic Ice Blue - Aftershave
  • Post Shave: Thayers - Lavender - Toner

2 passes. Bowl lather. Excellent shave.

I've had this soap for quite a while but have not used it until today. Very nice! When it comes to Catie's Bubbles I tend to reach for Waterlyptus but this one is very fitting for the fall season here in the northern hemisphere. Of course, Aqua Velva does not coordinate at all but it does the job. Very nice shave today.

Nice picture. In a light box?

[–] gcgallant@sub.wetshaving.social 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Just two lights that I purchased about 7 years ago. They were positioned left and right at an angle of 45° to the table's surface but along the diagonal of the image.

The camera is mounted on a horizontal boom that is parallel to the table.

Finally, I managed to bump the exposure of the image too high. Here's the corrected version where you can see more of the shadows.

Very nice! I like the soft box effect

I have a similar setup with a horizontal boom, but I'm usually too lazy to do top down shots 😅

but I’m usually too lazy to do top down shots 😅

It is tiresome with things that are reflective. I always have to make sure that the camera's reflection is not in the shot.

  • Prep: hot shower
  • Brush: Yaqi 24mm Naples Tuxedo Knot (synthetic)
  • Razor: Edwin Jagger DE 89L
  • Blade: Lord Super Chrome (1)
  • Lather: Wholly Raw - Monaco Royale - Premium Shaving Soap
  • Post Shave: Wholly Raw - Monaco Royale - Artisan Aftershave Balm

The Jagger was my first and only razor for my first couple years of wetshaving. I rarely use it these days because I like my others so much more, but it's still fun to revisit from time to time and remember where it all started.

FYI it's Wholly Kaw, not Raw.

Wholly Raw is better, though 😆
