Whose job is it to go around burying dead Marios?

[–] _druid@sh.itjust.works 17 points 1 week ago

Probably the same ridiculously optimistic Toad from the Mario movie.

[–] anomnom@sh.itjust.works 6 points 1 week ago (1 children)

The piranha plants probably.

[–] samus12345@lemm.ee 9 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Oh, sure, make the guys with no hands or feet do it!

[–] voldage@lemmy.world 1 points 6 days ago

Sounds like DEI, so I think it's not going to fly in the current political climate.

[–] SculptusPoe@lemmy.world 25 points 1 week ago (2 children)

….and BLOCKED!!!

[–] Banana@sh.itjust.works 6 points 1 week ago (2 children)

The fact that I already knew the answer to this embarrasses me

[–] AwesomeLowlander@sh.itjust.works 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Why? I see it on my main feed all the time, it's just osmosis.

[–] Banana@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

It means I don't touch grass nearly as often as I pretend to

[–] AwesomeLowlander@sh.itjust.works 8 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Leave the grass alone, it's got dead Marios under it.

[–] ivanafterall@lemmy.world 15 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Does it explain how or why there are so many Marios?

[–] SculptusPoe@lemmy.world 2 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

Mario is a special breed of mushroom given false memories and a backstory so that they will grow to have a hero complex and protect the mushroom kingdom. Only one sprouts from the mother mycelium at a time.

[–] RvTV95XBeo@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 week ago

You ever watch Orphan Black? Based on a true story.

[–] charade_you_are@sh.itjust.works 15 points 1 week ago

Unpleasant is not a word I would have used for this information. Informative is the word I would have used

"We-a still talkabout-a you, woohoo!"

that means whenever the 1up falls down the pit of death because it went the wrong way out of it's block it's just going back to where it came from

[–] ilinamorato@lemmy.world 7 points 1 week ago (3 children)

Hmm. That doesn't very neatly explain the ones that pop up in places where it's impossible to die.

[–] _stranger_@lemmy.world 15 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Are you suggesting 1-up mushrooms migrate?

[–] friend_of_satan@lemmy.world 17 points 1 week ago (1 children)

You've never had to chase down a 1up mushroom?

[–] _stranger_@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

I'll admit, I was fooled by the lack of a husk, but yes, I see it now.

[–] mangaskahn@lemmy.world 7 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Perhaps they're carried. It would be pretty easy to grip them by the husk.

[–] prettybunnys@sh.itjust.works 6 points 1 week ago

It’s not a question of where he grips it

[–] Whelks_chance@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

Look up ant cordyceps, learn how some fungus can move around, and then have trouble sleeping for a few days.

Proof that zombies do exist

So the only wasted lives are the ones you have left when you complete the game...
