They have values they're just not logically or morally consistent with reality.

[–] JasonDJ@lemmy.zip 43 points 6 days ago (3 children)

Their values are ridiculously consistent, they're just shit:

  • Red team good.
  • Blue team scum of the earth.
[–] EndRedStateSubsidies@leminal.space 6 points 6 days ago (1 children)

I mean morally consistent like being pro life but also pro death penalty and pro war but then again vote down any VA funding. Family values and rapingb kids, etc...

[–] JasonDJ@lemmy.zip 4 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Those are consistent you just aren't thinking like them.

Pro-life isn't about the baby, it's about protecting the patriarchy by enforcing man's will upon women. The same goes for raping kids.

And its the same reason they are scared shitless of transfolk and drag queens basically tossing traditional gender-roles in the trash, and in doing so, loudly protesting the very concept of the patriarchy.

I don't think they see anything wrong with not finding VA or any veterans benefits. In their eyes, veterans signed up knowing the risks, collected their salary and benefits as-agreed at enlistment, and that's that.

The governments responsibility to the soldier ends with their term of service. Any lasting effects is on the vet to deal with. Very...caveat emptor. Which is also consistent.

Thats at least better than how they treat kids. You'd think that if the government mandates the kids get educated and provides an education, during those hours the kids are in the exclusive care of the state...the kids should be getting fed and not shot at.

But instead, their solution to these problems is that kids shouldn't have to be educated, apparently.

But see it's not consistent because the moment they're that soldier, elderly on fixed income, sick, etc, the system and everyone in it are supposed to drop everything and help them. "Get your government hands off my Medicare", as it was.

They're the same shit eating morons that voted for Trump's tariffs because Biden made things to expensive .

blue team, red team, lmao

this really seems to be a sport for certain people. In my country its similar the populists communicate like they are in a football stadium, throwing up scarfs of their color and stuff :D The incompetence painful

[–] jballs@sh.itjust.works 2 points 6 days ago

It really is just as simple as that.

[–] not_IO@lemmy.blahaj.zone 7 points 6 days ago

neither consistent with themselves

[–] Seleni@lemmy.world 4 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago)

Actually, they are quite consistent; it’s just that one, they never say outright what it is, instead always talking around their ideas; because, two, we find it absolutely reprehensible (and they know it).

But it is quite simple:

Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.

-Wilhoit’s Law

Look at it through that lens, and you’ll see that they have never shifted their position. Their whole lives revolve around making this law a reality, and making sure they are in the in-group.

"Conservative" == Radical Extremists

[–] Trihilis@ani.social 17 points 6 days ago (2 children)

It's kinda funny since the word conservative would suggest you wouldn't want to change a lot and keep things the way they are.

Maybe it's better to stop calling them conservatives and start calling them regressives since they're basically making everything worse than it ever was.

[–] Bytemeister@lemmy.world 17 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago) (1 children)

Democrats are now conservatives. Republicans are straight up fascists at this point. They are no longer advocating for personal/state rights, small government, and a strict interpretation of the constitution. They want the governemnt to set prices, bully citizens/residents, establish a religion/theocracy, and restrict speech.

[–] Monstrosity@lemm.ee 11 points 6 days ago

Yes, In 2024 the Dems ran as champions of institutions and traditions. Literally conservatives.

[–] green@feddit.nl 3 points 6 days ago

We should've been calling them this since the 1950s. And even this is too kind - they are terrorists. Their policy platform is (and has been) to oppress, kill, and exploit.

*reactionary extremists

Can we make cuckservative a thing?

[–] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 18 points 6 days ago

Gotta be a cuck to be a conservative.

Make Americans Gouged Again

[–] Asafum@feddit.nl 12 points 6 days ago

"no you don't get it! He made everything more expensive so we can build American companies instead of foreign ones! They can't compete with the low prices, but now they can build!"

....ok? So you're trading cheap products for expensive American products? Are you that bigoted that you're happier spending more money to make a rich American richer as opposed to a rich foreigner? It's not like things are going to ever get cheaper again with this plan...

Employment wasn't much of an issue before either, WAGES always have been and they are because of greed. Higher prices will just bring higher profits, not wages.

[–] seejur@lemmy.world 6 points 6 days ago

"even more"? Try "an absolute shitton more"

[–] HawlSera@lemm.ee 4 points 6 days ago

Seriously, all the Trump supporters I know are acting like this is a good thing, like this is some necessary growing pain.

When no he's just casually recreating Germany 1930's

  1. Outgroup that gets blamed for everything (the Jews/the Trans) and is claimed to have insane amounts of wealth (Yes the GOP is claiming Transpeople are rich from "Cheating in women's sports")

  2. Isolationist policies that burn every bridge the nation has with the outside world

  3. Tanking the shit out of the economy with tariffs

Eyup, I'd say I did Nazi this coming, but I totally did.

Anything for "Daddy".

Every talking point, they parrot. They love taking orders.
