Don't feel bad, in my almost 30 years of working for big corps, I've seen way, WAY dumber shit than this come from exec management.
I feel like I am missing something here. I understand this is satire, but I do not understand the narrative.
- Company embraces AI tools
- Company enacts policy stating that when employees request any additional resources, they must justify why they cannot simply use AI to perform that task instead
- Employee creates tool that generates a nonsense justification
- Using this tool to request resources, employees keep their jobs because leadership thinks AI cannot do those jobs
- Company awards employee for creating that tool
Why would a company that is going all-in on AI tools embrace a tool that negates that? Is that the irony of the joke?
Yes, the joke is that they promoted him for using AI while that AI is used to justify not using AI.
