Breadtube if it didn't suck.

Post videos you genuinely enjoy and want to share, duh. Celebrate the diversity of interests shared by chapochatters by posting a deep dive into Venetian kelp farming, I dunno. Also media criticism, bite-sized versions of left-wing theory, all the stuff you expected. But I am curious about that kelp farming thing now that you mentioned it.

Low effort / spam videos might be removed, especially weeb content.

There is a cytube that you can paste videos into and watch with whoever happens to be around. It's open submission unless there's something important to commandeer it with at the time.

A weekly watch party happens every Saturday (Sunday down under), with video nominations Saturday-Monday, voting Monday-Thursday. See the pin for whatever stage it's currently in.

Without even watching the video I'm going to guess it's because Marx understood capitalism better than most capitalists

How to approach the market with breathtaking cynicism instead of polluting your mind with self-help entrepeneur bullshit that will make someone else richer: Volume 1

Said it before many many times: I genuinely unironically think every good leftist should go out and borrow or pirate a copy of Peter Thiel's zero to one because it's a shockingly honest glimpse into how the ultra rich actually think. He directly engages with and actually concedes that many critiques of capitalism are essentially correct, like how markets inherently bend towards monopoly in order to maximize profit. Rightwing media figures are generally just cheerleaders but the people they work for at the highest level know how this game actually works.

I'll put it on my reading list. Right-wingers generally do write down and advertise all their plans openly.

The most successful monsters in the world are marxists. They are bourgeoisie who use marxist analysis to be better capitalists.

secretly! under their blankets, with a flashlight after mom told them to go to bed already

They're richer than me. They're better at Marxist analysis than me. I need a vodka shot... catgirl-cry

Somebody is going to see this title and immediately jump to "See? The big corporations are all MARXISTS"

[–] rando895@lemmygrad.ml 19 points 4 days ago

Theres someone at my gym who basically says this, and explicitly says "pretty much all University professors are Marxists" though he never can tell me anything Marx has ever said, other than "everyone should be paid the same".

So.... Yeah

That was an interesting read, thanks for posting it.

Its not secretly, the big bourgeois been doing this since OG Capital came out, insert joyce-messier quote, they think they can delay the inevitable by abusing some of the economic-social ruleset when they forget to consider at least two (ok 3) important things, that Heraclitus quote, simple human error, and external conditions.

[–] theturtlemoves@hexbear.net 3 points 4 days ago (1 children)

What's the Heraclitus quote?

[–] tamagotchicowboy@hexbear.net 5 points 4 days ago

"The only constant is change". Heraclitus influenced Democritus who influenced Epicurus (and swerve's influence in Marxist thought feels like it goes back to Heraclitus imo). Marx did his dissertation on Epicurus.
