A couple friends and I have a "do not buy" spreadsheet with all our shared tools and equipment. If none of us have it a local lending library probably does

That’s a smart idea. There should be a whole website for this. Like, people who have a pretty good garage workshop and are willing to allow people to use it without cost. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve thought, man if I just had a table saw for 5 minutes.
