They should consider pulling some money out of the economy to reduce that inflation, perhaps by raising taxes

Not sure that's the way to do it.

It wasn't government spending but disruptions in supply chains and then the narrative of inflation allowing greedflation with less consumer backlash. Literally anti-evidence and biased reasoning of "inflation happened, and government spending wasn't zero, so it must be government spending".
