Polestars are sold in America already and they're Chinese EVs. The tariffs make them more expensive than they should be, but it is positioned as a luxury brand so it was marketed to affluent buyers anyway. BYD EVs are everywhere in Mexico and they have no problem charging in the US when they cross the border. The CEO of Ford has been driving a Xiaomi SU7 which he raves about, but it's only temporarily here under some manufacturer's exemption loophole.

They make kits with different types of plugs.

And yes I also would get one. the only american car that remotely interests me is that bare bones electric mini truck coming out (maybe) next year.

Yeah that sucks. rather buy something from a chinese worker owned co-op but i also have few monies and can't afford the 400% markup

Even if they remove all of the tarricfs and mineral bans, the USA is in serious trouble because the tariffs and trade blocks made over the last few months will only begin taking effect within the next couple of months due to the delay of shipping supplies. America basically is about to experience a delay attack it signed up for...
