Good. Do it. They deserve healthcare and reasonable wages.

Absolutely love Formula 1, been a fan for 30 years, find the whole cutting edge technology and it's public applications fascinating...

...but yeah lol fuck the circus. Formula 1 has gone from pure greed on the organisation front to unadulterated morally bankrupt and taking-the-piss greed. Saudi, Qatar, Bahrain, Abu Dhabi... yeah nah fuck that noise, a bit of fire under Liberty Media's chair would do them good.

It runs the risk of fucking the Vegas fanbase off 2005-stylez, but hey it can't have been too terrible if there's now three US races on the calendar.

I agree, this GP need to be a catastrophe, it's time Stefano get a reality check.

Losing them tons of money is the only way to make the faceless corporates pay attention and take action. I hope they do it.

Sometimes this timeline isn't so bad

[-] sleepy555@lemmy.world 38 points 7 months ago

The race is through the city, on main city roads. Shit is wild.

Vegas is just awful for formula 1. It's going to be a shitshow

[-] JJROKCZ@lemmy.world 8 points 7 months ago

Yea there are some good street races, I have little faith vegas will be one of them

[-] hitmyspot@aussie.zone 11 points 7 months ago

Isn't that often the case for formula 1 races?

[-] David_Eight@lemmy.world 18 points 7 months ago

In the 2023 season, 7 out of 23 races are.

I was in Vegas last month. Uber/Lyft drivers are fed up too. One driver told me that he used to meet his goals by 11am. Because of F1 construction traffic, now he’s driving an extra 10-15 hours per day to meet those same goals. He’s gonna be out of town this F1 month, visiting a friend in another state to consider moving there.

Life is becoming worse for the residents, while the casinos get richer.

We need to align ALL of the nations unions contract dates so that when one union goes on strike, ALL of the other Unions members are available to strike against the Capitalists nas a group.

May day for the world.

35k workers on strike? That's like a monday in France.

[-] CADmonkey@lemmy.world 30 points 7 months ago

It's 35,000 more than last year. Along with the actors strike, and right after the UAW strikes. Lets leave the defeatism on reddit.

AWS reInvent starts in three weeks. Amazon doesn't want any of their employees to be exposed to unions.

[-] TheBat@lemmy.world 9 points 7 months ago

Cars no go vroom?

[-] Yerbouti@lemmy.ml 3 points 7 months ago

I totally agree, I was just making a joke because our or french friends are quite something when it comes to strikes and protest.

As my nephew would say, "hhnnnngh!!!"

[-] XbSuper@lemmy.world 1 points 7 months ago

I've been waiting for this race all fucking year, they better just give them what they're asking for and not mess this up.

[-] JJROKCZ@lemmy.world 7 points 7 months ago

Hate to break the news mate but this race is probably gonna suck

[-] XbSuper@lemmy.world 1 points 7 months ago

The race will suck but at least the rich people putting it on will make a ton of money!

Edit: I couldn’t have been more wrong.
