If the pumpkins are rotting, you ought to compost them or throw them at your local liberal politicians or something.

Yes but not nearly as stupid as the people putting up Xmas lights.

people really do just be skippin' thanksgiving

what about the turkey, what about the color orange???

Thanksgiving is such perfect holiday for USA - settlers thanking God for help given to them by humans, whom they later genocided as thanks.

who cares what it's supposed to be about, it's actually about seeing exactly how far you can push the cutting edge of turkey science

I think that would be lost effort, by definition nothing in that cathegory can beat renaming turkey to Turkiye.

well that and seeing which lucky turkey gets to watch the rest of its family get murdered after Biden pardons only itself for the crime of being a turkey

Fall is banned due to climate change. Where I am all the leaves went from deep summer green in early October to all being bare now. We used to have gorgeous red, orange, and yellow leaves, with a crisp and amazing fall.

I am not thankful for capitalism still existing.

[–] barrbaric@hexbear.net 8 points 9 months ago

Only a capitalist roader would put up christmas decorations at all.

They’re early for sure, my family does it December 1st

I thought you were European

Americanisation is super rapid, in 90's the christmas stuff in shops started showing in december and in this year in october lol, pushing back the nonexisting in the 90's halloween stuff back on the shelves for a month before the actual halloween. Halloween stuff appeared in early september, pushing back the beach stuff - in a place where the nearest sea is hundreds of kilometeres away and it's fucking Baltic, i wonder if they do that shit over the polar circle too.

Tbf there are Halloween parties at clubs here in India too. But thankfully we haven't delved into costumes and horror-themed decorations.

On a bright note, every edgy teen can finally get an unlimited supply of plastic skulls for pseudosatanic rituals, so there is at least some real fun there.

Here sometimes some people do a costume party but that's it, no one really goes asking for candy or shit, ot well some do it but it is such an insignificant amount of people and I don't really know who the hell buys candies to give them.

So late in the season? Costco already had their christmas trees and decorations out almost a month ago.
