Violent Israeli settlers including two under UK sanctions have forced about 150 Palestinians to leave their village in the occupied West Bank, through a five-day intimidation campaign carried out under the watch of the Israeli police and army.

On Sunday morning, settlers established an illegal outpost, consisting of a basic shelter and a sheep pen, 100 metres from a Palestinian home in Mughayyir al-Deir, east of Ramallah. By Friday, dozens of villagers had already moved their flocks away, packed up their belongings and were dismantling the wooden and metal frames of their houses.

Settlers stalked between Palestinian men who worked fast and largely in silence, grappling with the grim reality of leaving the place where most were born and grew up. A child cried as he was driven away on a truck loaded with the family’s red sofas.

"Settler" is a weird way to describe someone moving into an area already settled by someone else.

Imperial Colonisation

The other words that can be used make them sound not very nice.

When has that not been the case?

Settlers backed by the Israeli government created the violence that led to the current war.

Often IDF troops are just a hundred meters or so away, ready to thumb the scale in the colonizers' favor if things get violent.

Often IDF troops live in the settlements themselves. Often off duty IDF troops are part of the mobs that murder Palestinians and steal their land. They share intelligence and coordinate attacks. Their is no real distinctions between IDF and settlers. It is just created on paper so that countries like Germany can claim some deniability when they supply arms to Israel.

Invaders > Settler

Israel is most genocidal country that ever exist. They are worst than nazi Germany.

They are terrible, but I really wouldn’t try to minimise the 15 + million people murdered in the holocaust.

Maybe worth looking not at the absolute number, but the relative Israeli population vs perpetrated war crimes

It really shouldn't need to be a competition.

As defined by the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum (USHMM): Genocide is an internationally recognized crime where acts are committed with the intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnic, racial, or religious group. These acts fall into five categories:

1 Killing members of the group

2 Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group

3 Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part

4 Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group

5 Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group.
