And he's showing all law enforcement that he has their backs, even if they do something illegal. He also cancelled a bunch of consent decrees that were designed to stamp out abuses in other cities (not that those are sufficient, obviously, but it was something).

I fucking hate this timeline, and I hate the fact that I spent all my life being a good little shit who never stepped outside the bounds. What a waste. Clearly laws were never really intended to be followed but just put up as low-level barriers for idiots who thought they applied to them.

The good that you've put into the world doesn't dissipate just because bad still exists. It's definitely frustrating to see people "succeed" while not giving a shit about the people around them, but being a good person is never a "waste".
